Pilot Robert Courter testing “Jet Belt” flying jetpack in Ft. Myer, Virginia, on June 10, 1969. He flew about 330 ft (100 m) in a circle at an altitude of
23 ft (7 m), reaching a speed of 28 mph (45 km/h). The following flights were longer, up to 5 minutes. In theory this jetpack could fly for 25 minutes and up to 84 mph (135 km/h).
